Semi-proportional representation

A semi-proportional voting system, also known as a mixed voting system or hybrid voting system, is a multi-winner voting system which allows representation of minorities, but does not reflect the strength of the competing political forces proportionally, mixing the principles of proportional representation and plurality voting.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Semiproportional voting systems )〕〔Giovanni Sartori, ''Parties and Party Systems. A framework for analysis.'' Cambridge, Cambridge University Press.〕 The most common mixed electoral systems are: Mixed Member Proportional, Alternative Vote Plus, Additional Member System, and majority bonus system.
==Semi-PR systems in the broader family of voting systems==

Most experts group electoral systems into 3 general categories:
* PR systems;
* mixed member systems; and
* plurality/majority or single-winner systems; 〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=The Systems and Their Consequences )〕 〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.electoral-reform.org.uk/voting-systems )〕〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://aceproject.org/ace-en/topics/es/esd/esd03/default )〕〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.ifes.org/publications/electoral-systems-and-delimitation-constituencies )
